From time to time, I like to show off a wonderful example of one of the many architectural styles that we have in St. Petersburg. A couple of weeks ago, I used the Vinoy Resort to show off Meditterranean Revival Architecture. Today, I’d like to move to a much smaller scale for my example, a single-family home. This house is a Craftsman style bungalow, located in the Historic Kenwood district in St. Petersburg. If you drive through Kenwood, you’ll see that the neighborhood is absolutely filled with bungalow type houses, and many of them are styled in the flavor of the Arts and Crafts movement, a style that’s commonly known as Craftsman. If you like the look of this house, drive through Kenwood and you’ll see lots more of them! The Kenwood neighborhood generally encompasses the area between 1st Avenue North and 9th Avenue North, between Interstate 275 and 34th Street. I plan to do a future post all about the Kenwood neighborhood, as there are lots of good things going on there, but for now, I thought I’d slip in a quick post of a gorgeous Craftsman house.
