Crescent Lake is always a favorite haunt for ducks, but on a recent visit, I spotted some swimmers that I’m not used to seeing there. These geese have made themselves quite happily at home, enjoying some serenity on a quiet day at the park…

There has been a pair of geese at CL Park for a while. A very mean man stole one goose a while back, and the mate was very, very sad. Another mate was found, and the geese were very, very happy. The same very mean man stole a second goose, and the neighborhood was up in arms. Our community police officer, Officer Ray Merritt, knew who stole the goose (to sell for someone’s Xmas dinner). Officer Merritt was able to retrieve the goose, and it looks like he may have freed a few others too. So Officer Merritt is a local hero, and the lovely geese are back home and happy. The End.
